Creativity

A few years ago I wrote a book called Don’t let your stars get muddy and other things you need to know to take care of your creative soul. I wrote this book in the middle of the night when I was frustrated with learning computer skills. My soul went under cover once many years ago and it took a lot of hard work to reclaim it. I think a part of me was afraid that I could loose it again. The soul is such a precious part of our lives; yet many of us make choices that bury the essence of who we are. We have bills to pay and jobs to maintain and families to care for and somehow we forget to take a few minutes a day to reassure our souls that we are still there. I, for one, love order and I tend to like routine but randomness is something that shakes things up and stirs up our creativity. One thing I like to do is close my eyes and pick a page in a poetry book. Often I find myself turning to a poem that I have never read before. Often, as if it is a gift from above, I land on a poem that is just what I need to read.
